The second largest metropolitan area in Iowa, Cedar Rapids provides a variety of activities for visitors. Cedar Rapids has a great art and history museum, theater, authentically preserved or recreated villages from the past,
and one of the oldest and most prestigious symphony orchestras west of the Mississippi.
Only an hour's drive from Des Moines, Cedar Rapids is a nice getaway. There are two gay clubs in town. Club Champs (1548 A Street SW, 319-363-3816) is a new club in town featuring three bars and
over 12,000 square feet of entertainment. With a huge outdoor patio, Club Champs is located in the old Czech part of town across the street from the museum. With the hottest men in town as bartenders and out-of-town
stripers performing on many weekends, Champs is
the dance club in Cedar Rapids featuring a sunken dance floor and a spectacular light show. For their upcoming entertainment schedule go to their website.
And, under new management, Club Basix (3916 1st Avenue, 319-363-3194) is on the main drag in town. They offer a variety of entertainment. Open 5pm2am daily, Basix offers dancing, drink
specials, hors d'oeuvres (Mondays and Fridays), and drawings and free giveaways on Fridays and Saturdays.
