Rick Van seems to be trying to cash in on the Latino video craze, following up his dismal Hawaii series
(Hawaiian Vacation I and II,
K-Waikiki, Back to K-Waikiki) with the equally bad
Latin Sex Thing. "My friends and I always seem to be horny," the narrator declares over the opening credits. "I guess it's just a Latin sex thing."
You wouldn't know it from watching this.
Decent production values can't improve 75 minutes of mostly dull sex (including an interminable fucking scene that makes churning butter by hand look like
fun), and half the models don't even seem Latino, just seedy. The credits don't show who's who. The silliness of the script is apparent from the beginning, when
Richard Reyes plays a painter with a gaping hole in the crotch of his jeans and-whoops-no underwear. It gets worse: when sleazy white-collar type lures unsuspecting Latin
stud to the office to help "move." The stud unconvincingly asserts "I'm not into that," before taking a dick in his mouth. Not to be outdone, the office worker wiggles his
butt in the air while protesting "No-it's too big. It's too big!" And so it goes, with second-hand models doing their grim duty to happy south-of-the-border guitar music.
Latin fans looking for passion will have to look somewhere else.
