Come west, young man!

Some say that Salt Lake City is a downhill ski racer who thrives on the speed and challenge of the nearby slopes. Others say the city is a computer genius working its way to the top in the area's burgeoning high-tech
industry. Still others would argue that the city is a person of strong moral character whose values drive him to focus on the family. I'd tend to agree with the latter.
One characteristic that everyone agrees on is that Salt Lake is a vibrant community that is experiencing economic prosperity. The area's productive workforce, low unemployment, exceptional recreation are a few of
the reasons. The 2002 Winter Olympics helped to put Salt Lake City back on the map.
Utah's liquor laws are unique. You will not find a US state as strict as they are in Utah. Alcoholic beverages may be ordered with a meal in most restaurants after 12 noon. Mixed drinks are served at Utah's
non-exclusive private clubs throughout the day. Visitors are welcome to purchase a two-week membership to most private clubs for $5. You can purchase all alcoholic drinks at private clubs. Taverns and lounges sell beer only.
State-owned liquor stores sell packaged liquors and wines. State liquor stores are closed on Sundays and holidays. Beware, if you request room service, on a Sunday, the hotels are not allowed to sell you liquor.
Places to stay
Parrish Place B&B (720 East Ashton Avenue) is a beautifully restored 1890 historic Victorian home. Two years of delicate restoring and thoughtful planning went into Parrish Place. Rates
include a generous breakfast served to your room at a requested time. Complimentary beverages are served in the conservatory.
Conveniently located just off of Interstate 80, Parrish Place is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and parks and just a short car ride to the areas gay attractions. They are just 20-30 minutes from nine
world class ski resorts.
Bars and clubs
Put Club Axis (100 South 500 West) at the top of your list of fun clubs. Friday night is their gay night. Most Fridays feature Nova Starr's "Platinum Pussy Review." Shirtless boys and men fill the two dance floors.
There is no dress code and there is an 18-plus lounge as well.
World famous DJ's often frequent this club and many weekends you will find Falcon porn stars taking off their clothes in this Morman city. New Year's Eve Axis hosts a Kabuki masquerade party. Ironically, the church's
16-and-over dance club is located across the street.
Other clubs include Bricks (569 200 South),
Club Blue (60 East 800 South), Club Naked (326 South West Temple), Paper Moon (3424 South State) and
The Trapp and Trapp Door (102 South 600 West).
