PRA, founded by executive director Jean Hardisty, is an independent non-profit research institute
that monitors and analyzes right-wing authoritarian movements, both secular and religious. Senior analyst
Chip Berlet presides over PRA's research operations. The library maintained by PRA is open to the public by
appointment. Surina Khan edits Public Eye, the organization's first-rate quarterly newsletter, which offers such

IFAS President Skipp Porteous, a former fundamentalist minister and one of the nation's
foremost experts on the theocratic right, co-founded this non-profit educational clearinghouse with his wife,
attorney Barbara Simon, in 1984. Porteous and Simon head a formidable team that includes journalist
Frederick Clarkson, researcher Ruth Shepard, and others. The Institute maintains an extensive informational database
on right-wing organizations and individuals. Membership in IFAS is $25 a year and includes a subscription
