And to cap it all off...

Montreal doffs its hat to fashion
Montreal-- You can't even say haute
couture without uttering French. If you're in North America, the nearest place to sample the
je ne sais quoi of francophone fashion is Montreal.
The time to do it is March 4th to 8th, when it's "Montreal Fashion Week," a five-day celebration of the city's fashion scene, the biz and the art of it. Besides a center of design, Montreal is
home to over half of Canada's garment manufacturing. Fashion Week promises to take its stylish attendees from "from prestigious Place des Arts to trendy designer ateliers." Anchoring
the festivities is a "Trend and Legal Seminar"-- it doubtless sounds better in the mother tongue-- "that not only takes trend forecasting to new lengths"-- no pun intended!-- "but provides
unique insight into aspects of Canadian law impacting the industry." Zzzzzz. More sizzling will be a "Designer Debut" showcasing up-and-coming talent. And don't worry about winter
weather because École de mode du Cégep Marie-Victorin will be on hand to give a glimpse into its "innovative fur design workshop" (PETAphiles can expect a welcome frosty as the Plain of
Abraham in February). Fashion mavens, queens, and victims alike can browse to www.montrealfashionnetwork.com to find out more and the latest.
