How to order
In Paul Barresi's vision of everyday life at the L.A. County Jail, four men rut inside a cell while a masturbating guard observes the session on surveillance television; two hairy brutes are
turned loose on slim, billiard-pated newcomer Rick Leon, who chirps, "Let's party!"; sweaty felons punch each
other's pecs; a man is decked by another man perched on a toilet; warden Eric
Evans is cornholed by cigar-chomping inmate Joe Romero; and Dillon Press cuts through the wall of his cell-- not to make his escape, but to open a glory hole.
Barresi, whose direction fares best when he has macho stereotypes to exploit and subvert, orchestrates all this with his signature combina- tion of levity and fierceness. The sex
hits overdrive when Press and Leon, pumping their dicks into either end of Damien's Paleo- lithic-looking bulk, lean toward each other and share a hot, wet kiss. Deftly edited by Kevin Glover,
Bear Cage is technically sharp. The familiar canned music-- Sharon Kane Tape A-- may be ready for retirement, but does provide rapper Mister Man with underpinnings for the lyrics, "You can
be built like Hercules,/But when the light's out, you're on your knees...."
