Cutting Class
By Dawn Ivory

View our poll archive
Dawn was shocked to read news from Kenya wherein 20 new pupils at Kiriani boys' high school in Eastern Province were sent home because they were not circumcised. School officials told parents the action was taken to protect the uncut boys from bullying by their clipped classmates.

"Please do the needful within two weeks and let your son report back to school with you immediately he is well [sic]," a letter to parents from the school said. Perhaps school officials would do better to focus on their own grammar skills rather than students' allegedly overly abundant prepuces....

Dawn wonders how the school ascertains the circumsicion status of its pupils?
