The Case of the Perpetrator's Pants

Our apparatus in New Orleans has sent a rare and inspiring story from the Times-Picayune about a victim who triumphed over an assailant in a New Orleans suburb. It can be done.

A 23-year-old woman says that a man by the name of Adrian Farlow gave her a ride in his van about 11 o'clock one Sunday night. Adrian stopped his van "on the shoulder of a road, pulled a knife, held it to her throat, and demanded sex."

Adrian took off his pants. The article does not mention underpants. Evidently he wasn't wearing any.

The young woman grabbed Adrian's pants and fled to a nearby house where she called the cops.

Since Adrian was in the mood for rape, he perhaps played with his meat as he drove home bare-assed, and probably continued to play with it when he walked naked into his house, the dirty thing.

"Examining Farlow's pants," the paper says, "deputies found a driver's license with [his] address and arrested him." The cops found two knives in his van. Men are real men when they have a knife.

The woman's resourcefulness recalls one of the most magnificent moments in Macao (1952), perhaps the finest motion picture ever made. When Robert Mitchum suddenly and forcefully embraces Jane Russell and steals a kiss, she keeps her cool and just as suddenly boosts his wallet.

Men being what they are, women have to outwit them-- as we have just seen, by stealing their pants or taking advantage of the closeness of an embrace to pick their pockets.
