How to order
As a sleazebag veteran cop and his wet-behind-the-ears new partner, Zak Spears and Lane Fuller appear in roles analogous to those played by Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke in
Training Day. But the character tensions between them are sloppily dramatized, and the
sexual tensions between them scarcely exist. The superb Lane Fuller, whose role turns sexual only in the final scene, is underused and performs below par. He's splendid in a non-sexual opening bit where he apprehends a purse-snatcher, but he and Spears don't have the kind of
chemistry that might have helped this video take off.
The best of four sex scenes is an encounter between big, loutish, mean-eyed Spears and swarthy Mexican vagrant Mario Cruz, who roughhouse in a scuzzy toilet you can almost smell. (There's the obligatory penetration-by-nightstick, followed by a hot, unexpected round
of reciprocal fucking.) When jailed miscreant Paul Carrigan winds up in the middle of a fuck-train, bracketed by officers Parker Williams and Todd Marshall, the third episode soars. But an earlier locker-room trio falls flat, partly due to the lackluster acting of three bearish newbies,
and the final scene, Fuller's alleyway initiation at the hands of Spears and Marshall, fails to combust.
