Under the confidently warped direction of Steven Scarborough, this three-hour treat for specialized tastes presents a sometimes startling cavalcade of kink. Deftly
shot by Lester Moore, it has a handsome look, with a stylized color scheme that stresses green, white, black, and chrome. For a video that shows electroshock
torture, extremes of anal penetration, and jets of water expelled from one man's anus into another man's face,
Doctor's Orders unfolds with surprising matter-of-factness,
humor, and taste.
The two parts of this twin-cassette medical journey are called "Manipulation" and "Dilation," but it's hard to say which section actually depicts more of either. In
the opening sequence, the sight of nurse Jeff Baron, clad only in tinted glasses, a black jockstrap, and a see-through plastic apron, tells you at once that you're in a
very special kind of hospital.
It's the sort of facility that specializes in anal probes, prostate massage, colonic irrigation, bondage, and passionate fucking. Medical instruments overlap with
big, mean sex toys. Doctors and nurses mostly wear scrub suits or portions thereof; patients wear hospital johnnies or nothing. Doctors keep making requests like, "I think
I need you to get up and bend over for me."
The close-to-freakish anal prowess of various cast members lingers in the foreground, but there are diversions involving other apertures. Some of the best
moments belong to auto-fellatio expert Josh Tager, and to patient Marcus Iron and nurse Thom Barron. Baron leaves Iron in restraints and goes away until his charge needs to
pee, then forces Iron, who is piss-shy, to urinate into a metal receptacle. When Barron turns Iron loose, their encounter sizzles with lust. There are times, however,
when viewers may ask if limp-dicked anal stretching feats or high colonic fountain tricks can really qualify as sex.
