Terrance Hawke of San Francisco's Campus Theater keeps knocking off new editions of his patented brand of gleeful smut. The New Meat series showcases performers from the famous Jones Street sex palace, as well as discoveries from other sources, in their first hardcore video appearances. New Meat 22, one of Hawke's better efforts, is especially worth noting as the porn debut of Matt Majors (here called simply "Major" for reasons that become obvious the instant his jeans come off), who has gone on to appear in Falcon's Bounce, Studio 2000's Wet & Wild, and other A-list productions. Serendipitously paired here with young, blond Jarrod Gray, he radiates intelligence, libidinous energy, and mischief.

Other segments feature amiably exhibitionistic lovers Kevin Gerard and Tyler Alexander, who unapologetically fuck bareback; 18-year-old African-American "candy raver" Sire, who is also teamed with Gray; and slender, dazed-looking Blake Daniels, who seems blissed out on lust in his session with Hawke himself. (The silver-haired Hawke may be, as he says, "old meat," and his crown-of-thorns pubic tattoo is for specialized tastes, but he's a sexual powerhouse.) Dispensing with music, encouraging his models to talk to each other during sex, Hawke the director specializes in real sexual encounters between real people, edited to seem to take place in real time. In porn, that's rare.
