World AIDS Day concert in NYC
New York-- To commemorate World AIDS Day December 1st, why not break out in song? Or at least, watch the 100-plus cast of the
World AIDS Day Pippin Concert so break. The event isn't about apples, but rather is an ode to the songs from the
eponymous 1972 musical, "the story of a young man searching for ultimate fulfillment and his 'corner of the sky.'" The young man in question is played here by Broadway heart-throb Michael Arden (of
Bare and Big River fame). And it's all in the service of lifting money out of your
pocket (in increments from $50 to $1000) to bolster the ledgers of the National AIDS Foundation, supporting some 400 community-based groups around the US.
Pippin ran for 1944 performances, but this concert happens once-only-- November 29th at the Manhattan Center
Grand Ballroom (311 W. 34th Street, at 8th Avenue), at 7pm. For more info, browse to www.pippinconcert.org. For tickets call 212-868-4444 or visit www.smarttix.com.
