Cannon Hawkins, 21, now a junior at Brown University, has filed suit against his prep school, Groton, because they allegedly did not protect him from "sexual assault." Cannon (whose whole
name sounds like a gay nom de porn) asserts that complaints by him and other boys about their treatment at the hands of older students went ignored by school officials.
Cannon says he and others complained that older boys would play "Night on Disco Mountain'' from the
Saturday Night Fever soundtrack before pinning down the boys and grabbing
their genitals. News reports did not detail whether Cannon or any of the boys had (or got) hard ons, but Dawn suspects most did; at that age, even the slightest stimulation produces erections. Nor
did reporters note whether any assholes were exposed or fingered (nor their state of cleanliness), nor whether anyone involved ejaculated.
But evidently, a lot of cockteasing went on to a disco beat: "I can't say it happened to everyone, but in one degree or another it happened to the vast majority of boys going through this
school," said Cannon's father. Perhaps Cannon's dad also went to Groton and remembers similar hijinks from his youth.
Now that teen sex is seen as one of the most awful things God created, prosecutors and social workers are swooping in to "help" the "victims." Groton is a rich school, so there should be
enough money for all the hogs at the trough.
Dawn admits to having grown callous to these depressing "he touched my pee pee!" stories wherein transgression of sex rules is treated with far greater severity than actual violence. But
there was, at least, a gem at the end of the Boston
Globe's reportage: "Cannon Hawkins alleges that when he spoke up about students being assaulted, one teacher called him "stupid and arrogant"
for complaining about sex acts "some find pleasurable." Hear, hear-- school is supposed to be broadening....
