A Sicilian Tale
By Giacomo Tramontagna

A Sicilian Tale
Rating: 3 Stars
Produced, written, and directed by Lucas Kazan. Videography by Leonardo Rossi. Edited by Adam Rom. Music by Andrea Ruscelli. Starring Federico Bulsara, Sasha Byazrov, Vilem Cage, Lucas Foz, Jorge del Toro, Tiziano Cortese, Ivan Andros, Mario Lopez, and Milton Abdalla.
How to order

Lucas Kazan, whose recent L'Elisir d'Amore was loosely based on a comic opera by Donizetti, ventures into opera-porn once again, this time with the help of Kristen Bjorn, who served as executive producer. A Sicilian Tale was suggested by Pietro Mascagni's one-act Cavalleria Rusticana (1890), based on an over-the-top romantic melodrama by Giovanni Verga. This beautifully shot, flamboyantly silly Sicilian eruption is one of the very few porn videos you're ever likely to see that concludes with the knifing death of one of its principal models.

Santo (Federico Bulsara) is in love with Turiddu (Vilem Cage), who is in love with Luca (Sasha Byazrov), the boyfriend of Alfio (Lucas Foz). A jealous, tormented soul who plays games of "Kick Me," Santo (Santuzza, a female character, in the original) pursues Turiddu around town, spying on him through clumps of cactus as he caresses Luca (originally Lola), confronting him with his infidelity, and following him into a three-way situation where, for a long time, Turiddu stays focused on the anatomy of brawny Spaniard Jorge del Toro. When Turiddu tells Santo off and hooks up with Luca for sex, Santo has attacks of the vapors, feyly hurling himself against walls. Then, fatally, he tells Alfio that Luca and Turiddu are carrying on behind his back.

A Sicilian Tale does deliver sexually, thanks to its cast. The handsome, dependable Czech model Vilem Cage, a Kazan regular, looks like a more finely tuned version of Jason Branch-- and, like Branch, he can act. Gimlet-eyed, pouty-lipped Sasha Byazrov, one of

the best reasons to see Barry Gollop's Moscow: The Power of Submission, is stunning here-- especially when, as he clings to a ladder with Lucas Foz's face burrowing into his butthole, he has a Bjornian no-hands orgasm. Bulsara is made to act beyond his range, but you can forgive him everything when he comes, copiously, while Cage's cock bores into his ass. The models are all uncircumcised. The Sicilian location footage is superb; the setting for two of the sex scenes, however, is some kind of carnival tent that doesn't figure in the opera, where the villagers' principal source of entertainment is church.
