Whatever you do, vote!
I am writing in the hope that I can inspire my GLBT
brothers and sisters to become activist voters. If
you are not registered, or do not vote, please do
so.
When George W. Bush was running the first time, I
thought that it couldn't happen, no one could take
him seriously. But he managed to steal the
presidency -- twice!
We have come a long way from Stonewall, and gay
people have made amazing progress despite the
likes of Anita Bryant, Jerry Falwell, Reagan, Bush Sr.,
etc., etc.
But gay people cannot take for granted the rights
we have fought so hard to get. If there is nothing
else you do in terms of activism, vote!
I write in honor and remembrance of the 143
friends and loved ones who have died of AIDS, the
result of homophobia and moral indifference.

Guide denied!
I am in receipt of your letter requesting review of
the impoundment of The Guide.
The issue was reviewed by the Literature Review
Committee. It was determined that the picture of
two naked males reclining with one having his hand
on the naked buttocks of the other on page 28, the
drawings of an erect penis and anus on page 73,
and the two naked individuals on page 98 were in
violation of the admissible standards, to wit: digital
contact with the naked buttocks, depiction of the
male sexual organs in an aroused state, and depicts
nudity and the appearance that sexual contact is
imminent. The impoundment was affirmed and the
issue was rejection for admission.
Your appeal was considered in the Literature
Review Committee and no change was made to the
original decision.

Where's the kinky article?
You have this great article on pages 16-20 of the
September 2008 print issue, "Kinky Beyond
Gay."
I want to send that article to a couple of friends but
no matter how I search the on-line September
issue or your site I can't find any reference to this
article.
Am I doing something wrong or is the article not
available on line?

Pleased in Brighton
Just a quick email to say many thanks for the print

Theocracy equals death?
I read with interest your article "Iran, Nigeria,
Sudan, Saudi Arabia, USA" (available
at Guidemag.com).
Why does the USA still have the death penalty at
all? Every other western country abolished it years
ago. Is it the same sort of xenophobic intransigence
that has the USA still using imperial measures,
while the rest of the world uses metric?
Seriously, look at the list: Iran, Nigeria, Sudan,
Saudi Arabia, USA. What do they have in common?
They are all theocracies. Iran, Sudan and Saudi
Arabia have Islamic law. Nigeria is half Islamic law
and half Christian fundamentalism. The USA is run
by Christian fundamentalists. Why has the USA
deserted its secular roots?
