How to order
Displays of brand-name undies often threaten to reduce gay videos to smorgasbords of product placement. This one really is a 90-minute underwear commercial. In
the world of Under-Where?, Sai's Bun Boy briefs (you can get them at the Gap) have occult powers: when you wear them, you get lucky. "Let me show how magical
mine are!" says Shane Patrick, sliding out of his leather pants. Actors put on and take off various Bun Boy styles, have vacuous chats about the supernatural potency of
Bun Boys, and have sex. The magic of Bun Boys causes Philipe Jones to turn into Jeff D. Kota, to the confusion of Logan Runner (and the rest of us). It makes
tchotchkes come alive in the office where Patrick has his way with Oscar Evans.
The premise of Under-Where? has been used before, more coherently. The cast is attractive, but the five sex scenes are marred by amateurish camerawork,
poor pacing, cheesy music, and annoying jump cuts. The standout performer is Patrick, an accessible-looking extrovert with a hint of brain. He can act somewhat, even
while caught up in exuberant cocksucking. His scene with young blond newcomer Lee Garrett, as an 18-year-old lifeguard seeking his first man-to-man sex, has some of
the erotically charged deadpan humor of a Warhol/Morrissey film. When the obligatory Bun Boy plug appears in this context, you may groan.
