In New Comers, smooth operator Steven A. Love (who may or may not have written and directed this opus-- credits are lacking) interviews four porn-star wannabes. After a short, businesslike interview (Q:
"Is there anything you'd like to tell me about yourself right now?"-- A: "Not much... right now."), each auditionee removes his clothes to the accompaniment of tinny bump-and-grind music. Love takes measurements--
chest, waist, inseam, and dick-- then mumbles something about acting skills. This phase of the audition always means that Love gets naked, escorts the prospective model to a nearby bed, and has sex with him.
This cheesy but good-humored video, which runs about an hour, isn't awful; there just isn't very much to it. This is another example of an attractive African-American cast being thrown away on a
quicko-cheapo production. New Comers is technically inept, and not every cast member is even up to the sex (in every sense). But Love, an amiable, mischievous dirty old interviewer, keeps the proceedings, such as they are,
moving along. And Larry James-- who, when asked why he wants to appear in a porn video, belts out a rendition of "It's All for the Best"-- deep-throats Love's long, irrepressible cock with verve, gusto, and memorable skill.
