Calgary may be far from the Hollywood Hills, far even from Toronto, that favorite location of cost-conscious directors. But that's no reason to give "Fairy Tales," Calgary's fourth annual queer film-and-video festival,
short shrift.
"Fairy Tales over the last three years has continued to grow in attendance numbers, community support, sponsorship dollars, and overall awareness," opines Tracy Stewart, who as Fairy Tales's Coordinator of
Operations should know. "Due to continued audience feedback we have decided to expand our festival this year to three days. Which will allow for more screenings, higher attendance and a greater festival experience," Stewart goes on.
All this should be inducement to put final touches on your homosexual cinematic masterpiece, so as to meet the April 15th entry deadline. Be a pal and submit your video in NTSC format, only. Because of the vagaries
of Canada Customs-- doing its part to maintain North America's "security perimeter"-- Fairy Tales advises that "all submissions
must put a value of $0 and include 'For Cultural Purposes Only' on the package being sent."
