Nudity was also in the news back east. In the bohemian town of Brattleboro, Vermont, teenagers have taken to disrobing in the business district. Most news accounts give credit to several young women who decided to
enjoy their time relaxing on that burg's park benches
déshabillé, thus inspiring others to shed their clothes while wandering the streets of the southern Vermont town.
"Brattleboro tends to be a laid-back town and pretty accepting of the unusual, but this is really pushing limits," Police Chief John Martin told the Associated Press's Lisa Rathke. "It's clearly to outrage people, it's
clearly rebelliousness," he said.
Most alluring to Dawn were reports that some town teens have taken to nude hula-hooping; the thought of all those nubile genitals being gyrated for public appreciation seems reason enough to plan a sojourn to New England.
Alas, not all Brattleboro residents recognize a good thing when they see it. "It's a bad image for Brattleboro," Ozzie Kocaoglu, 43, who owns Sundried Tomato restaurant, told the AP. What a clueless moron.
