Taurus Dean, the feisty little French model who made his American porn debut trading oral ejaculations with Michael Brandon in Pokin' in the Boys' Room, moves behind the camera for this follow-up to Raging Stallion's Hard as Wood. At two hours and 52 minutes, Tough As Nails is about an hour too long. The sound recording is uneven, and Taurus's grip on the action isn't always secure. But the portions that succeed promise first-rate work from this neophyte director in future productions.

he action-- two solos, three duos, a trio-- is set in a woodworking shop where futzing around with all that wood must give workers ideas. The first scene, between Rick Gonzales and drop-dead bottom François Sagat, starts awkwardly and doesn't support its 35-minute length, but includes some blistering fuck footage. Taurus Dean himself appears on camera in the final sex loop, crying "Fuck me like you hate me!" to Manuel Torres, who obeys. But the best segment is a spooge-spattered three-way involving hirsute bottom Steve John, shaven-headed Randy Manroot, and funky, toilet-mouthed JD Kollin, who serves up startling multiple cumshots.
