Miffed at Guide's presidential politics

In your November issue, you endorsed Ralph Nader for US President [Make Your Vote Count, November 2000]. As a result of those who voted for Nader we are going to be stuck with George Bush for the next four years. I cannot understand how a magazine that caters to the gay community could support Nader over Gore.

As a devoted Gore supporter, I cannot give money to a magazine that supports Nader over Gore. Therefore I will not be renewing my subscription.

While GW [Bush] may not be the best of two evils, the inane childish writings appearing in your magazine [Hail to the Thief, January 2001] raise the question of not just respectability but of legitimacy.

Your writer Dawn Ivory is so politically naive that he honestly believes that Jeb Bush tampered with the voting process in Florida. Any one who was born within the last 50 years knows that the apparatus in the Sunshine State was dominated entirely by the democrats-- all republicans have ever been able to do to that process is to cast a ballot.

Had your writer addressed the issue of under-voting what he should have discussed was the missing ballot option, "None Of The Above" which is undoubtedly what the under-vote described.

I have had more respect for your magazine in the past but this is going to far. You would have us believe that we would all be better served by having elected big Al "I-invented-the-Internet" Gore to lead us. Get real. Get a life.

Before your U.S. election, I wrote you a letter that I suggest the gay vote should go to Al Gore instead of Nader or Bush. Anybody would make better President than Bush or Nader (no chance at being elected). Even though you believed Al Gore doesn't have much good record of gay rights, but now look what happened?

I certainly hope all your American Gays should realized what has happened. Perhaps you deserved what is coming because of your support of Nader, not backing Al Gore.

I feel chill when I am think of all Bush Government's anti-Gays and perhaps your Supreme Court. Thank god I am a Canadian and I don't have to face those radical extreme American Anti-Gays. Good luck.

Have one big question [after reading Coprophilia: A Lot to Digest, February 1993]: if eating a hamburger that has traces of e-coli present and people die, how in the world can eating someones fecal matter be healthy. Not into it, just curious.

There's plenty of e coli in everyones gut-- it's just certain rarish strains that cause problems.

This is very disgusting, putrid, and vile [presumably Coprophilia: A Lot to Digest February 1993]. God never made us to eat others peoples crap; besides, the diseases you can get are just too numerous. It is very evil and it is an act of Satan himself. It just goes right along with the way this generation and this whole society is going anyways, however that does not make it right!
