How to order
Promoted as a parody, The Best Little Whorehouse in
Tex-Ass has only a rural Texan setting and most of a title in common with Carol Hall's Broadway hit. Here the eponymous house of ill fame is the rented home of
Michael Brandon and Matt Sizemore, a frisky gay couple whose lifestyle fascinates their pruriently nosy, purportedly heterosexual neighbors. An actual gay spoof of the 1978 musical (or its film adaptation with Dolly Parton)
might have been more fun.
But with this production, Doug Jeffries one of a host of porn models currently angling for careers behind the camera hits his stride as a director. His script is saddled with a half-hearted supernatural element and
a discordant ending, but his direction of sex now approaches the skill of one of his mentors, Chi Chi LaRue. The fourth and final full-throttle sex scene, a juicy debauch involving Brandon, Sizemore, and their landlord
(Kurt Wagner), could pass for one of LaRue's killer three-ways.
There's a streak of bent humor, however, that is pure Doug Jeffries. When neighbor Tanner Hayes gets so incensed by his proximity to homo sex that he finally snaps, he imagines the gay couple's pool boy and
gardener (Alex Burbon and Brandon James) in military gear, working him over with a purple dildo and a strand of ben-wa balls. When Kaya Moore, in a non-sexual role as Hayes's wife, presents Brandon and Sizemore with a
"home-made" apple pie plastic lid and price tag intact she envisions them thrusting their cocks through the crust and eating gobs of filling off each other's erections. The vignette is short, but it's everything gay viewers wish
they could have seen in American Pie, and more.
