Proceed from principle
Your July 2001 editorial Honeymoon Hypocrisy is excellent!
You note that many gay activists are not consistent with their own argumentation. Could the problem be that they do not all argue from conscious principle but the emotion of the moment?
This is a problem throughout our social fabric: few define their assumptions or principles, and many are unaware of them. As a result, the constant seeking of "self-interest" traps us all in
a morass of sloganeering, sound-bites, moralisms and ultimately, self-destruction.
But when individuals and groups begin with principle, the discovery of commonalities sometimes occur and this awareness can lead to mutual growth and development (what some term
win/win situations).
Thank you also for the e-mail availability of your publication. I seldom can get a hard-copy, but can now enjoy The Guide on-line.

Nasal maneuvers
As an guy from Sydney living in relatively straight-laced San Francisco I have found it a little sad when my sex partners have shrunk away from some of my more unusual (but pretty
safe!) practices-- whether it be exhibitionism, gut-punching, or yes... "oystering" [see Loose Lips June 2001].
Even the act of just taking another guy's nose in one's mouth strikes most men as strange-- until they relax and experience how erotic it can be. Thanks for coining a good word! May
"oystering" spread throughout the world!
How about this for your next neologism: "Fingerfucking" is okay, but can you come up with a better word than "toefucking"? I'm referring to the big toe, of course, with trimmed nail.

Does Abstinence Make the Dick Grow Harder?
Teen Sodomy [March 2001] was one of the best, well-rounded pieces of information and journalism I have read in years. Thanks for the info and congrats to
the author Bill Andriette.

Scam of the month
Compliments of the season. I am Mr. Patrick [lastname]. I worked as the personal advisor on defense matters to the late Mobutu Sese Seko, former president of Zaire, now the Democratic
Republic of Congo.
At the height of the crisis that led to Mobutu's overthrow, he mandated and instructed me to create and equip a special elite corps to protect him against the rebels. This highly
confidential instruction was backed up with US$40.2 million in cash for purchase of arms and ammunition.
I brought this sum to Ghana, where I was supposed to prepare my travel documents and fly to South Africa and Russia for the arms purchase. But when the rebels overran Kinshasa and
Mobutu and his family fled for their lives, I stopped all arrangements and diverted the funds for my personal use.
It is necessary that we meet in Ghana for a formal meeting and introduction. You will be required to open a non-resident account where you will pay in this money for onward transfer to
your overseas bank account. I am resolved that 30% will be your share for nominating your account for this purpose.
Please feel free to ask any question and seek for more explanations if necessary. Thanks and God bless you.

With so many scams right here in the USA, why would anyone need to go all the way to Ghana to be ripped off?
Happy in Texas
I ran an ad in your magazine and was pleased with the results. I want to thank you!
