Not Again!?!
By Dawn Ivory

Watch out-- republicratic/demoblican sychophants and gay christians are attempting to organize a march on Washington even worse than the 1993 debacle (wherein the focus was proving that we could be loyal soldiers and faithful spouses). This time, the folks at the Human Rites Fund and Metropolitan Community Churches are trying to keep out grassroots riffraff with a top-down organizing approach. Their goal is to prove our worth as a viable market segment and respectable, monogamous-minded torchbearers of Judeo-Christian family values. Sexual liberation issues-- and those pesky activists who keep talking about freedom-- are to be shunted aside lest they embarrass strait sensibilities. The market-savvily-named "Millennium March" is meant to attract those eager to prove that we can be junior strait people. The one bright spot of the 1993 march was comedian Lea DeLaria with her on-target assessment of the Clintons' real contribution to the homo agenda: "At last, a first lady I'd wanna fuck!" She, along with anyone else with a scrap of insight (or humor), isn't to be invited to the 2000 party.
