"Pictures": Two Perspectives
The mad dogs in Tehran are no doubt thrilled with Bill Andriette's article blaming their depravity on U.S. "threats" [Pictures at an Execution, October 2005]. Maybe these middle eastern devils will ask for his assistance
the next time they decide to hang a couple of children. Seems he's eager to help.

Thanks to Bill Andriette for writing what is probably the most incisive article on the Iran hangings.
I watched with frustration as Doug Ireland, HRC, et al, thumped their chests and congratulated themselves for supposedly speaking up for queers everywhere. Your piece exposed the hypocrisies of and unseen
collusions between such groups and individuals who might otherwise see themselves as opposites, ranged on the sides of the left and the right. And it did brilliantly what few gay writers seem able to do these days: connect gay
politics to the arena of international politics.
I've forwarded your piece on to as many people as I could and will be referencing it in my own work about contemporary queer politics.

Misses New England Rest Stops
Thanks for your assistance [in finding cruisy areas] regarding my woefully dull sex life. Used to be the Governors in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts maintained all those lovely parks along the highways that I enjoyed
so much.
What is it about those outdoor, possibly dangerous activities that make them so exciting?
Alas both states have virtually shut down every rest area. I find the bar scene at this point in time consuming and a bit boring if you can imagine that. I just want to once again be able to indulge in quick anonymous
hook-ups that so many of us seem to enjoy. I should note that I am single and therefore feel free to indulge
sans guilt on my part what so ever.

More Exotica
I wholeheartedly agree with last month's letter writer calling for more varied travel destinations. I enjoy the info you do provide-- just wish there were more!
