Thanks to the reader who sent Dawn news of a German firm's plans to market the world's first "spray-on condom" in an effort to "develop the perfect condom for men that's suited to every size of penis."
The company, "Vincio: World of Condoms," notes on their website (Vincio.de/spraykondom), "Our team is developing a type of spray can into which the man inserts his penis first. At the push of a button it is then coated
in a rubber condom. It works by spraying on latex from nozzles on all sides. We call it the '360 degree procedure'-- once round and from top to bottom. It's a bit like a car wash. The plan is to make the product ready for use
in about five seconds. We believe it would function more effectively as a contraceptive because it would fit better and not slip. However, before the new condom can be sold in shops, the firm must ensure that the latex is
evenly spread when sprayed, as well as optimize the vulcanization process. We had hit upon the idea when considering the difficulties some people faced using condoms, and drew inspiration from spray-on plasters now used
in medicine."
W
ant to help condom science advance? Then note that Vincio is looking for condom testers: "We are looking for 30 Condom-Testers. Your job is testing the new condom. We are looking for men with a penis length from 9
until 12 cm and 15 until 20 cm. Men between 13 to 14 cm are welcome, too. [Why don't they just say dicks 9-20 cm-- that is, 3.5 to 8 inches-- are sought?] You should have experience with condoms and being almost 18
years old. [Hmmmm....] Your data will be kept very safe. If you have any questions, please contact us." Readers?
