How to order
At the end of Passions of War, Chapter 1:
Honor, a storyline seemed to materialize as two soldiers escaped from the rocky island where they'd been sent to bake in the sun while drilling, doing stupefying sentry duty,
having automated sex, and embracing brain death. Since this none-too-eagerly anticipated second chapter is called
The Journey, one might expect some follow-up on the deserters. Instead we're sent on a demented hunt for
something called the Desert Pearl. The soldiers think it's a priceless treasure; it's really a big phallic rock that fills people who stand on top of it at sunset with "magical energy." Viewers of
Passions of War, Chapter 2 won't be filled
with much of anything besides the urge to hit fast forward or watch something else. Between periods of standing still, bickering, and picking their way over fields of rubble, 11 muscular Euro-clones shed their combat fatigues
for three twosomes, one threesome, and two onesomes, one of which occurs to the side of the opening twosome. Meanwhile, martial music pillaged from all over blares on the soundtrack-- most appropriately, Sousa's "Liberty
Bell March" from Monty Python's Flying
Circus. Viewers who make it as far as the words
To Be Continued may groan aloud at the prospect of
Passions of War, Chapter 3.
