Feinstein & Schumer: torturing the Constitution

If congressional Democrats are wondering why they are held, if polls are to be believed, in equal contempt with the thuggish, incompetent, and murderously mendacious executive
branch, they need only consider Senator Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.). Feinstein's and Schumer's votes were needed on the Senate's Judiciary Committee to advance
the nomination of Michael Mukasey to fill the jackboots of out-going Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
Mukasey claims he can't decide if drowning people and then resuscitating them (a.k.a., waterboarding) is torture. And Feinstein and Schumer think that it's okay to have an attorney
general who has trouble making such a determination.
W
hat more important function can the head of the Justice Department have than to oppose his own government's breaking the law (by kidnapping people and torturing them
in concentration camps and secret prisons)? And what more vital function do senators have than to make sure the Attorney General is committed to the rule of law?
The next time you hear blather from Feinstein or Schumer about their support for "gay rights" (or any rights, for that matter), remember they are willing to sanction torture.
