How to order
Dispensing with Studio 2000's usual stumblebum story line, director Derek Kent sticks gracefully to the sex. At a funky gay bar called the Hot Spot, when patrons aren't actually making sexual connections, they're dreaming
about them, or drifting off into steamy reveries about what hard-bodied bartender Dean Markham would look like naked. The first three episodes depict encounters between pairs of men who have left the bar together, and a
back-room duo between bar boy Richie Fine and a lucky customer he singles out for a sex break. The fourth and final segment, one of the best sex scenes Kent has ever devised, is a fantasy sequence in which Markham has a passionate
fling with Alec Martinez in the men's room while four anonymous, un-billed bar patrons surround them, jeans at half mast, watching avidly and jerking off. It's hard to say whose fantasy this is supposed to be, but it seems to well
up out of the collective unconscious of gay men everywhere.
