The enemy of my enemy is... still an enemy
My, my, aren't we sore losers. Your diatribe against Bush [Attack the Religious Right March 2001]-- who is not a bible thumper-- seems elitist considering how depraved the Clinton administration is revealing it self to be.
Your allegation that the Governor of Florida, a man who just happens to be the brother of our President was in any way responsible for Gore's loss is pathetic.
Gore did not get the votes he felt he deserved because he was too contemptuous to garner them. Clinton kissed the ass of the gay community when he ran for president in his first term, promising that as president he would fix the "gays in the military
problem." Yeah, he sure did: under Clinton's administration, there were more discharges for homosexuality than in any administrations preceding him.
If you can take off your democratic homophobic glasses long enough to look, you will be able to discern that Bush has appointed numerous gay people to high level bureaucratic positions. That is where the power lies. Quit slamming Bush because he won
and your man didn't.

You're not reading The Guide carefully. We have editorially attacked Dukakis, Clinton, and Gore as enemies of civil liberties and sexual liberation. But that does not mean that we support Bush (who indeed gushes in praise of religious right leaders who would have
all us queers exterminated). In fact, Bush and Gore are hired by the same corporate interests to forward essentially the same political agenda wherein capital-- but not labor-- is free to cross national borders, wherein poor people-- but not corporations-- see their
welfare benefits slashed, and wherein more prisons and punishments await political dissidents, sexual outlaws, and others who've committed no real crime.
Jail Florida election officials?
I agree that Gore should have done a great deal more [Attack the Religious Right March 2001]. I wonder why no information is being brought forth on how the Secretary of State of Florida, and brother Jeb Bush,
circumvented election laws, and decided to give the results before thousands of votes were counted. Some legal action should be taken and these people should be incarcerated.

Guide creates problems in Algeria
I am from Algeria, and you used to send me The
Guide magazine, and I have to thank you. But unfortunately it has created me problems. So please, you better not send me this kind of magazine any more. I am sorry. But I'd still love to have pen pals through your site
on the net.

Your message arrived just after we sent you another issue, but after this we won't send any more. Sorry you had problems.
Check out the Ohio pics
Well, March's issue of The Guide is here at the tavern, but if you can't stop by and pick up a copy and you wish to see the pics and article about the Queen of Hearts, go to our web profile on
The Guide's site and check out the Akron/Warren travel article there.
We thank Mike and the "gang" from
The Guide and hope that next year they spend more time in the Mahoning Valley.

Trapped in India
I received an issue of your good and beautiful magazine from one of my friends. I live in Manipur where life is lonely and very boring. My village is a small place near the border of Burma. We are a small tribe from Burma who are Indian citizens now, but we
don't enjoy it. My family has no telephone or email, but I'm a loving person interested in a relationship. I'd like to meet someone who could help me get out of this lonely place and show me the world. With the help of your magazine, I hope my dream will come true.
