Thanks to the reader who sent a blurb from the Orlando Sentinel, detailing that Mickey Mouse-burg's plans to deny sex offenders access to shelters during hurricanes (Dawn cannot make this stuff up). Any registered "sex offender" (which includes men arrested for masturbating in parked cars or guys unlucky enough to offer an uptight cop a blowjob) who is not at home, or who does not report to a correctional facility (!) during a storm will, under proposed new regs, face arrest for violation of parole.

The reader who mailed Dawn the item noted the irony that though the homo rights effort explicitly models itself on the civil rights movement, it depends on the manufacture of new categories of perverts to subject to apartheid-like oppression-- only now with high tech gulags and satellite tracking added to the armamentarium.

Part of Dawn looks forward to the day when all the "coloured" folks at HRC, GLAAD, NGLTF, etc, who currently sniff and cluck and condemn those further down the concentration camp ladder, wake up to find themselves moved into the "black" category. Of course, by then Dawn will be long gone....
