Polish Pleasures, the fifth and best of photographer Jean-Marc Prouveur's forays into videoporn, is a straightforward celebration of anonymous, recreational homosex. The one embellishment is the recurring presence of a satyr-masked fiddler whose exposed, stiffening penis slowly throbs its way into an ejaculation. (The violin may be to Poland what Pan pipes are to Greece.) The violinist's name, Casimir Szymanski, echoes that of the great, gay 20th-century Polish composer Karol Szymanowski.

Most of the six principal scenes take place in graffiti-tagged abandoned buildings and wooded cruising areas, but the best segment may be an intense, largely oral encounter between Leopold Frackowiak and Oleh Grzegorski aboard a moving train. Grzegorski, whose astonishing cumshot during the opening credits festoons his face with spooge, is also paired with one of the best assets of Prouveur's recent Porn Zone, Henry Fleischmann, in a piss-prefaced woodland encounter. Frackowiak, who's like a tattooed, sexually ravenous Pat Boone, circa 1958, must have made a strong impression on Prouveur, who uses him in four sequences. The finale unites Frackowiak with funky Casimir Radomski and cute, grime-smudged mechanic Zygmult Hrysiewicz in a ruined house.

These predominantly Polish models have toned, natural physiques and large, mostly uncut, sometimes curving cocks. In their sexual repertoires, energetic fucking ranks high. Polish Pleasures is visually luminous, and also brief-- its 87 minutes seem to be over before you can say Zygmult Hrysiewicz.
