The US Justice Department reports that law enforcement officials used force (assault, choking, "restraint" by a dog or gun) against 500,000 Americans last year. African-Americans and Hispanics make up
half of those muscled by cops, though they comprise only 20 percent of the population covered by the study. No doubt Clinton and other law-and-order types will take these stats to argue for more cops on the street so as to get
the number of white folks beaten by cops up to the people of color levels.
