Terrance Hawke, proprietor of the Campus Theater/Club 220 complex on San Francisco's Jones Street, keeps cranking out simple but enticing four-act videos that showcase porn novices. Every scene includes at least one model who supposedly has never had sex on camera before. This 27th installment is the best since the series peaked with New Meat 22, whose delights included the porn debut of rising star Matt Majors. New Meat 27's strongest elements are a return appearance by semiretired porn star Jim Bentley, who ushers dark-haired neophyte Mark Ross through his first videotaped fuck, and a pair of scenes with young, blond British-born Kevin Reynolds. Reynolds appears first with Ameh, a henna-haired sprite from Costa Rica, then with Shawn Page, a slim young Bostonian whose right eye has been bruised in a fight. ("Very street," observes Hawke in his intro.) The intensity of Page's debut may be partly due to the relief he must feel at having escaped the sexual desert that is Boston.
