Conned by con?
An inmate at Kentucky State Penitentiary wrote me for a while and lied and conned me out of a lot of money. You shouldn't run ads from him.

As we've repeatedly said, sending money to someone known only through a few letters entails the risk that they might not be all they claim to be... prisoner or not. The web offers resources for checking on the particulars supplied by any correspondent, a measure that some
of those seeking prison penpals avail themselves of.
Why marriage is needed
My partner were together for 23 years. He was the head psychologist for [a school system] for 21 of those 23 years.
When he died of liver cancer, caused by hepatitis, he caught when he was 17 years old, the whole school system mourned, but I could not receive a penny of his benefits. If it were not for an iron clad Will that we made years before, I would lost the house that we
both paid for. Families can be very nasty when one of the partners die.
Now, both of us always paid our separate taxes all our lives. I had to pay for my own health insurance, etc. Now I know straight couples that live together without marriage do the same, but they choose to live this way. They do have the option to get married with all
the benefits. We never had that option or choice.
We were productive men, and I still am. And except for being Gay, law-abiding Americans. We don't want anything more than any other Americans, but we don't want less.
We marched with Martin King, Jr., and helped the African Americans receive their rights. I can remember when Blacks were not allowed in the Navy. It was said, at that time, that the white men would not live with black men in those close quarters. Well, they can and
do! Tell that to Colin Powell! We fought and died in all the wars. Our blood was and is now being spelt in this war. But our surviving partners received no compensation. These are just a few things that all Americans take for granted. Why not us?
Does the straight world think that we are taking something away from them? If so, why so many divorces? Almost fifty percent? Why are there so many troubled children of those 30-, 40-, and 50-year-old straight parents who always talk about family values?

Guide censored in St. Louis
I found out today that I cannot access your web site through any library computer here in St. Louis. Is there anyway for you to place an on-line ad for me?

Alas, some libraries censor Internet access by using filters that block any sites using certain words; thus, a candid safe sex discussion is censored as "pornography." Expect thing to get worse as theocrats in Washington crusade for their indecent version of "decency."

Wants color, recipes
I suggest that you consider putting in some pages in color to give more value to the pictures and articles.
Also, when you discuss a restaurant maybe you could add a favorite recipe of the chef.
