If a squib from the Gay People's
Chronicle (Cleveland) is to be believed, cops in Dayton, Ohio, appear to be stopping men for "driving while gay," an allusion to the well-established
police practice of stopping swarthier drivers for "driving while black."
Dale Rogers and John Adams allege that Metro Park's cop Eric Wetterich pulled them over, only to launch into a diatribe about the rainbow and anti-Bush stickers on their car. City
cops called in for back-up (they call in back-up for a bumper sticker crime?) reiterated, according to Dale and John, that "the bumper stickers have got to go." How ironic; soon these same
cops will be arguing that gay men are required
to put pink triangles on their cars (and clothing sleeves?)....
In the same squib, other men allege that Dayton vice cops are propositioning park goers, then busting them after they express interest. Dawn's favorite cop-speak quoted was
from detective Raymond St. Clair who wrote in his report, when he was alone with the
accused, he "exposed his penis to public view when he was showing me his penis." How can you be alone and "in public"? And if Raymond didn't want to see a penis, he shouldn't have
been hitting on men. Sounds like a case of wanting to eat your cock and arrest it, too....
